MARIA PACCA Fine Art

Greetings and welcome to my digital studio! I am Maria Pacca. After many travels and living in diverse places, I presently call Jacksonville, Florida, my home. These adventures have enriched my art, offering a variety of subject matter and media. I spent 14 years in Hawaii painting the ocean in acrylic, captured the grandeur of volcanoes in Guatemala, depicted Brazil's exuberant landscapes in oils and embraced the Colorado mountains with watercolors.

I have been always deeply concerned with nature, the environment, and humanity's lack of respect for both. Recently, after spending some time in Brazil, I was struck by the ongoing devastation of the Amazon Forest. This inspired me to create cylindrical paintings reminiscent of trees, eventually culminating in an immersive installation I named "AMAGONE! We are Amazônia," featuring not only the series of cylindrical "artscopes", but also bird calls, waterfall sounds, and plants. This collection was exhibited at the D'Art Gallery in Denver on Santa Fe Drive in June 2021. A video was produced to accompany the exhibition, showcasing the works and including an informal interview where I share my thoughts on how we can all help reduce the devastation of this crucial ecosystem. You can view the video at www.amagone.net.

Originally from Brazil, I've spent much of my life in the US, holding a BFA in Fine Arts and French. A kind of "accidental nomad", I've lived in Hawaii, California, Guatemala, Colorado, São Paulo, Brazil, New York, Boulder, Colorado and now in Florida. As a professional artist, I feel fortunate to pursue my passion. To draw and paint is to truly see and observe the world, bringing always a profound sense of aliveness and joy.
